Interquip’s 38.4 MHz Automotive-Grade Crystal Oscillator Validated for Qualcomm SA8797P/QAM8397P Platforms

July 2026 –Interquip Electronics Pte. Ltd. (“Interquip”) announced that its independently developed 2.0 mm × 1.6 mm, 38.4 MHz automotive-grade crystal oscillator (Part No. 2681-3840Y-BVOQYA) has successfully completed validation for Qualcomm Technologies' SA8797P/QAM8397P platforms, supporting next-generation cockpit and automated driving applications.

This achievement marks the third major qualification for Interquip’s automotive-grade frequency control devices within the Qualcomm automotive ecosystem, following the validation of its 76.8 MHz automotive-grade crystal unit with built-in thermistor (Part No. 4MTB7680007YSF30QY) for the Qualcomm SA525M 5G V2X connectivity platform and its 19.2 MHz automotive-grade crystal oscillator (Part No. 2681-1920Y-BVKQYA) for the Qualcomm SA8620P intelligent driving platform.

The continued qualification of Interquip’s automotive-grade timing solutions across major Qualcomm automotive platforms demonstrates its technical capabilities and ability to meet the demanding requirements of next-generation automotive electronics.

SA8797P/QAM8397P: Central Computing for Cockpit and Automated Driving

The Qualcomm SA8797P/QAM8397P platform is designed for next-generation centralized automotive computing architectures, integrating high-performance computing capabilities for cockpit and automated driving applications.

Built using advanced 4 nm process technology, the platform delivers up to 660K DMIPS of CPU performance, 8.1 TFLOPS of GPU performance and 640 TOPS of 8-bit integer sparse compute performance.

A key feature of the platform is its ability to support cockpit and automated driving workloads within an integrated computing architecture, enabling efficient processing of multiple vehicle functions while addressing the increasing computational requirements of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and intelligent in-vehicle applications.

The platform is designed to meet stringent automotive safety requirements, including ASIL-D functional safety requirements, while supporting AI-enabled in-vehicle experiences and advanced driver assistance applications.
As automotive architectures move toward centralized computing, semiconductor platforms increasingly require clock sources that combine low power consumption, stable frequency performance and high reliability under demanding automotive operating conditions.

1.2V Ultra-Low-Voltage Automotive-Grade Crystal Oscillator for Advanced Automotive SoCs

Interquip’s 38.4 MHz automotive-grade crystal oscillator (Part No. 2681-3840Y-BVOQYA) features a 1.2V supply voltage, addressing the low-voltage and high-integration requirements of advanced automotive SoCs.
As semiconductor process technologies continue to scale, operating voltages are trending lower to improve power efficiency and enable higher levels of integration. This places additional demands on external timing components, particularly in applications requiring stable frequency performance and reliability under low-voltage operation.

The 2681-3840Y-BVOQYA is a 1.2V ultra-low-voltage automotive-grade crystal oscillator solution developed for advanced semiconductor platforms. To address the challenges of low-voltage operation, Interquip optimized its crystal design and oscillator circuit architecture to maintain sufficient negative resistance margin and low jitter at a 1.2V operating voltage.

This supports reliable start-up, stable oscillation and accurate clock generation under ultra-low-voltage conditions, helping address key challenges such as limited start-up margin and oscillation stability.

The combination of ultra-low-voltage operation, low jitter and stable frequency performance provides a reliable timing solution for next-generation automotive computing applications, while contributing to lower system power consumption and thermal dissipation.

From the Qualcomm SA525M 5G V2X connectivity platform and SA8620P intelligent driving platform to the SA8797P/QAM8397P integrated cockpit and automated driving platform, Interquip continues to develop automotive-grade timing solutions that support the evolution of safer, smarter and more reliable vehicles.
